I want to do this!

My friend and I watched the Esprit fashion show, which I thought was an ordinary show with skinny, tall models (male models to be exact hehehe) walking on the runway…I was wrong!

There were male models alright.

But the catwalk is not on a typical stage… it is vertical!

So there I am as I watched in awe and wondered if I can do that… out of all the daring things out there, I think rapelling (if I had spelled it correctly) could be more fun and less scary (I hope). Well, compared to bunjee jumping (no way!), sky diving (even more!) or rock climbing, I think rapelling is safer (I really do hope so!). But on the Esprit thing, rapelling is done face first!

Hmmm… I think I’ll opt for the traditional, butt-first kind.

Pretty cool huh?

My favorite place- Dubai festival City

I love this place for many reasons:
It's not a crowded mall even on weekends...
but this was taken on a weekday, in the middle of the afternoon, and still no one's there...

I love a quiet mall!

Outside, there's a canal where you can ride a boat along the sides of the mall.

Sitting comfortably during sunset!

This is taken at the Dubai Festival City.

Me and my job

I feel so guilty every time I have my camera with me and not take any pictures as promised…
So now, I have included, little by little some pictures that I know my dad would appreciate (not really).
I’ve just decided to really get serious with my blog… so here goes.

This is my office building, Sultan Business Centre, where I spend more that 10 hours a day.
Work starts at 8:00AM (except for Ramadan, which starts at 8:30). I usually come around 7:15… hindi na ako nale late! Then we have lunch at 1Pm to 2PM… I usually take mine at 12:30PM so the pantry isn’t too crowded (with pinoys!). Then uwian is at 5:30PM…
My day consists of going to the warehouse in Al Quoz (around 20 minutes away, without traffic,
of course!), but the distance is almost similar travelling from Kalookan (1st Avenue) to Bulacan (Meycauyan). Let’s just say, malayo… Anyway, its part of my job to do regular checks and inspections at the warehouse and these trips are quite normal for me. Sometimes I spend the day travelling to several of our stores.
On this picture is in Dubai Festival City, my favorite mall! It is like 10 minutes away from where I live. And the gym that I go to is in that same mall…
I love doing store visits because I get to socialize with our store staff, mostly pinays, and they actually enjoy talking to me… paano wala silang kasama, and my visits are sometimes the only socialization they have for the entire day.
If I had to stay at the office for the entire day, I am mostly in front of my computer, (either on the net or something else!). Or doing my blog. :)
Seriously, my typical day at the office consists of checking (again and again) submissions from suppliers, pre production samples of numerous make-up samples…for my approval. Labelling and documenting the samples that I receive and stashing them somewhere in my “library” of samples and products.
Obviously, this picture is taken pre-Ramadan, as I cannot have my Starbucks coffee and waffle (talk about dieting) at my desk durign Ramadan, or anything that I can actually put in my mouth. Not allowed. So this picture, tells of a typical day at the office, with all my samples lying around, and my waffle, discreetly being warmed on top of my latte... It's just an ordinary day, with all my approvals pending and waiting for my confirmation (if they are to be produced or not!). Notice Mary's picture next to the monitor...

Sleep Apnea and Air Supply
It’s a very sleepy morning, probably because the first thing I drank today was hot chocolate with foam, my favorite. Well, except for the foam, which I throw out everytime. I researched the net for the real reason why I am falling asleep, while sitting on my office chair, right next to this Indian guy who, might’ve thought I’m weird, with my head falling forward most of the time, while staring at the computer screen. Hehehe. For the past 2 months, I have been like this. Sleepy even during meetings and important brain storming activities. Sometimes its just that I don’t have much to do at work. But it’s not like I’m bored or anything. I’m just really sleepy.I looked it up at the internet and looked for the best possible reason why I am having daytime sleepiness (that’s what they call it), and found out something what I might’ve have. Sleep apnea. Ok, OA na. But I just want an answer for my tiredness and sleepiness, hehehe. So I started to listen to my iPod and listened to my collection of R & B songs on my "On The Go" playlist… I was still sleepy afterwards. Then "Here I Am" played. A song by Air Supply. I didn’t know how that got in there… That got me awake. Hehehe. Never knew that the chorus that goes "..just when I thought I was over you! And just when I thought I could stand on my own. Oh baby those mem’ries come crashing thru, and I just can’t…go on without…You." would wake me up. Hehehe. I know it’s a cheesy song (thanks a lot Joel). So I just sang it on my head, feel na feel pa ha. I just smiled after the song. It’s a nice song that brought back memories of my college days when my barkada and I would sing in videoke bars, getting drunk (them…hehehe) and being all heart broken, even if we’re not.I don’t know if anybody saw my facial expression today while singing it on my head. May papikit pikit pa.I should sleep early from now on. Diko suggested that I should start exercising to burn that excess energy, in form of stored fat. Haha. So I invited an officemate, a kuya of mine here in KOJ. We’ll start gym (which is on the same building as our office) this coming May. And by June, I will also start my dance classes. Belly dancing. Or bilbil dancing. I have lots of those, so it won’t be difficult. Other than that, the class had other dance lessons too. From boogie to chacha to hiphop. I’m pretty sure this will be lots of fun.
